Standing at the altitude 5,357m, Gokyo Ri Valley Trek is one of the popular and amazing trekking routes in the Khumbu region. Located on the west side of the Ngozumpa glacier (largest ice glacier in Nepal and reputed to be the largest in the whole Himalayan). It is considered as the best viewpoint for Everest and other peaks. Flight to Lukla starts our trek. Passing through the popular destination of the Everest Region (Namche) and other villages like; Dole, Machhermo, we will reach the Gokyo valley.
Gokyo valley is the main destination of this trip as from here we can view different mountains including Mount Makalu, Mount Lhotse, Mount Cho Oyu, and Mount Everest. The valley contains 19 Gokyo Lakes which makes the view even more breathtaking. Observing the Gokyo valley, we come back to the Lukla, and from there a flight to Kathmandu end our trip. Inhabited by the Solitary Tibetan-Buddhist civilization of Sherpa, Gokyo Ri Valley Trek is the best option to visit in the Everest Region.

Due to the maintenance at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the flight to Lukla is going to be operated form Ramechhap which is district nearby Kathmandu from April. So, the current itineraries are subject to change because we need to spend a night in Ramechhap to catch the flight to Lukla; thus, we advise you to contact us about it before booking the Gokyo Ri Valley Trek.

As soon as the airplane lands, you’ll sense the beginning of the adventure. Our representative will be at the airport to greet you and escort you to the hotel. Savor the taste of the hustle and bustle in Kathmandu, where everyone would seem busy but never too busy to greet you with a smile. Home to 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, it has been chosen as a cultural and historical site of study and excursions throughout history. We’ll observe some of the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu throughout the day. Overnight stay at the hotel;
There's no other way of putting it: the flight to Lukla is hair-raising indeed, but as we step down from the plane, we will be taking our first monumental step on the path that leads to the world’s highest mountain peak Mount Everest. After reaching Lukla, we will hike towards the village of Phakding, where we will spend the night. Overnight at Phakding;
After breakfast, we will start our trek towards the modern town of Namche Bazaar. Crossing the suspension bridges and walking six hours from, Phakding we will reach the entrance gate of Sagarmatha National Park. From there, the trails ascend uphill before reaching Namche Bazaar. In Namche Bazaar, we can see the well-facilitated hotels and high Himalayan peaks around. Overnight at Namche Bazar;
Acclimatization is very important to prevent altitude sickness and for a successful trek. So on this day, we will explore Namche Bazaar where we can find restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, and other shops. We can also walk about an hour to the Everest Hotel above Namche from where we can view the mountain peaks and beautiful scenic beauty of the Everest region. Overnight at Namche Bazar;
We will commence our trek towards Dole after breakfast. On the way to Dole, we will encounter pine forest filled with rhododendron and also few artistic, religious monasteries and temples; we will be walking for 5-6 hours to reach the village of Dole. Overnight at Dole;
After breakfast, without any wasting time, we move towards the next destination Machhermo. A short walk from the Dole, we will reach Machhermo from where we can view the wonderful mountains and peaks. Overnight at Machhermo;
On this day, we walk towards the Gokyo Lake, which stands on the elevation of 4750m above sea level. We can also see the Gokyo village on the bank of the lake. On this day, we will explore the local villages and rest there. Overnight at Gokyo Lake;
On this day, we will hike up to Gokyo Ri to see the actual beauty of the place. We will spend another day in Gokyo to view amazing lakes and high majestic mountains like Mt Everest, Cho Oyu, etc. We will be on an elevation of 5360m. Overnight at Gokyo Lake;
After Breakfast and sunrise view from the Gokyo Ri, we move towards the village of Phortse. Passing through the different flora and fauna forest, we will reach Phortse. Overnight at Phortse;
On this day, we will descend to Tengboche. Tengboche is known for one of the best spots in the Himalayas where we can visit the local monasteries and Stupas. Tengboche Monastery is probably the biggest Monastery of the Everest Region. From the monastery, we can see the panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam and Mt. Thamserku. Overnight at Tengboche;
On this day, we will be trailing down steeply to reach Monjo. We will stay overnight in Monjo/Jorsale after completing the trek for this day;
We will be heading towards Lukla via Namche Bazaar; where, we can buy souvenirs and other local items while getting back to Lukla and enjoy the landscapes with the Himalayas. Overnight at Lukla;
The flights from Lukla to Kathmandu are sometimes canceled due to weather conditions, so we reserve a buffer day in order not to impact on your departure plans;
We will be heading back to Kathmandu from Lukla after breakfast. It is a 35 minutes flight. Back in Kathmandu, after checking in at the hotel, we can either join the evening prayer at Pashupatinath or for those who are not willing to go can have their own time to do the necessary shopping or herbal massage as well. Overnight at the hotel;
Depending on your flight time you will be transferred to the airport. The airport check-in is 3 hours prior to the departure time, and the hotel checkout time is usually 12 PM. Our representative will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport.
