Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) is the 10th highest mountain in the world. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular treks on earth. Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trekking, which is also known as Annapurna Sanctuary trekking is the greatest prominent trekking in Nepal.

Like any other trip in the Annapurna region, our Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek also begins in Pokhara, widely known as the ‘Lake City.’ It passes through cascading waterfalls, beautiful villages, terraced farmlands, lush rhododendron forests, and amazing mountain vistas before reaching the base of the mighty Annapurna.

The British Adventure Col James O.M. “Jimmy” Roberts first explored Annapurna in the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the “Sanctuary of Gods.” Mount Annapurna is the tenth highest peak in the world, and the journey to its Base Camp, which is at the elevation of 4130m is one of the most popular walks on earth.

For travelers who wish to reach Annapurna Base Camp in a more relaxed manner, Annapurna Sanctuary Trek – 14-days trekking, would be more appropriate.

Day 1: ARRIVE AT KATHMANDU (1350M)

As soon as the airplane lands, you’ll sense the beginning of an adventure. Our representative will be at the airport to greet you and escort you to the hotel. Savor the taste of the hustle and bustle in Kathmandu, where everyone would seem busy but never too busy to greet you with a smile. In the evening, we will brief about the itinerary and later we will go for a nice dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel;

Day 2: SIGHTSEEING IN KATHMANDU

Kathmandu valley is an ancient city with diverse cultures and traditions. It has a significant part in the history of Nepal. Home to 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, it has been chosen as a cultural and historical site of study and excursions throughout history. We’ll observe some of the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu throughout the day. Overnight stay at the hotel;

Day 3: KATHMANDU TO POKHARA (850M, 200KM/6 HOURS DRIVE)

On this day, we head towards Pokhara; a touristic city of Nepal and also ranked the 2nd cleanest city in Nepal. We depart for Pokhara early in the morning. We pass through beautiful hilly villages along with the Trishuli River. Overnight stay at hotel in the beautiful city of Pokhara;

Day 4: POKHARA TO ULLERI (2,073M)

On this day, we drive up to Nayapul, and our trekking begins - we walk up to the village of Ulleri. We commence our trek by following the Burungdi Khola upstream. We stop for lunch at Tikhedunga, and from there we climb on challenging but worth climbing steep stone staircase through the neatly terraced hillsides to the top of Ulleri. Overnight stay at teahouse in Ulleri;

Day 5: ULLERI TO GHOREPANI (2,760 M)

From Ulleri, we transverse through Rhododendron forests to Ghorepani. In spring the forest is a blaze of color, with Rhododendron flowers dominating the jungle. When we reach Ghorepani, we can see magnificent mountains such as –Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Machhapuchhre, and Mt. Lamjung. Overnight stay at teahouse in Ghorepani;

Day 6: HIKE TO POON HILL (3,210 M)-TREK TO TADAPANI (2630M)

Poon hill is absolutely on the highlights of this trek. This place is the most beautiful viewpoint of Sunrise in the Annapurna region. Sunrise from this place is unbelievable. We leave for Poon hill before the day breaks. We hike for about 50 minutes to view the glorious sunrise from the Poon hill and from there we walk to the village of Tadapani. Overnight stay at teahouse in Tadapani;

Day 7: TREK TO CHHOMROONG (2,170M)

We leave Tadapani after breakfast with the beautiful views of Mt. Annapurna South and ‘Fishtail Mountain’ Mt. Machhapuchhre. We descend steeply to the valley basin at Ghurjung River. From here we climb along the mountainside to Chhomrong which is situated high up on the mountain ridge. Chhomrong is a village of Gurung people and their rich cultures. The village boasts the majestic view of Mt. Annapurna South (7,219m), Mt. Machhapuchare’ Fishtail’(6,993m). Overnight stay at teahouse in Chhomrong;

Day 8: TREK TO DOVAN (2600M)

We leave for Dovan by trekking down to Chhomrong River and then climbing up to Sinwa which takes about 3 hrs. From Sinwa, we will climb down to Modi River and again climb gently towards Dovan. Overnight stay at teahouse in Dovan;

Day 9: CLIMB TO DEURALI (3,300M )

After breakfast, we walk for about 5 hours before we reach Deurali. We enter into higher altitude, so we keep a slow pace and climb to another hamlet of Himalaya. From there, we climb for about 1 hr to Hinku cave and finally reach Deurali. Overnight stay at teahouse in Deurali;

Day 10: TREK TO ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (4,200M)

This day we will reach our ultimate destination which we sought after. We hit the trail from Deurali to Mt. Machhapuchhre base camp. It will take about 3 hrs to get to Machhapuchhre base camp at 3,700 m. From Machhapuchhre base camp, the trail to Annapurna base camp climbs gradually to the snowfield and meanders around the glacier. At Base Camp, we are blessed with the 360-degree view of the highest mountains in the world. Overnight stay at a tea house in Base camp;

Day 11: TREK DOWN TO SINWA (2310M)

After accomplishing the Annapurna Base camp, we head down slowly to Bamboo with the refreshment of a lovely sunrise. Bamboo is a small settlement before we reach Sinwa. Overnight at teahouse in Sinwa;

Day12: TREK BACK TO JHINU DANDA (1,600 M)

We head to Jhinu dada following the same trail we took to climb up till Chhomrong. Jhinu Danda has natural hot springs that will relax our body from the strenuous walking. Overnight stay at teahouse at Jhinu Danda;

Day 13: JHINU TO POKHARA (850M)

From Jhinu, we trek to Nayapul, and from Nayapul, we drive back to Pokhara. We explore the Pokhara city, which is very famous for its natural wonders and the city itself. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara;

Day 14: POKHARA TO KATHMANDU

After 6-7 hours’ drive, we will reach the heart of the country where the necessary preparation for the departure day will be carried out. It's a day for you, and therefore you can explore the shops and spas of the city or join the evening worship at Pashupatinath Temple, which is a divine spiritual experience. If time is sufficient, we will be preparing a small farewell get-together. Overnight stay at the hotel;

Day 15: DEPARTURE

Depending on your flight time you will be transferred to the airport. The airport check-in is 3 hours prior to the departure time, and the hotel checkout time is usually noon. Our representative will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport.
