Zermatt is the most spectacular ski resort in Switzerland. The atmosphere is trendy and cozy, the landscape is breathtaking, and the ski area is outstanding.

The Matterhorn is Magnificent

I have no words to describe the beauty of the Matterhorn. The mountain rises imposingly and majestically above all. It’s impossible not to feel attracted by its power and grandeur. To climb it is, for sure, an extraordinary experience reserved only for those who have outstanding climbing skills, and the guts to it. Reaching its peak must be an unforgettable experience!

World-Class Skiing Infrastructure

As mentioned in the Canton of Vaud post, Swiss Alps are for skiing and snowboarding as Hawaii is for surfing. Zermatt offers world-class skiing infrastructure. Besides, there are a variety of well-connected ski slopes and paths to suit all levels: beginners, intermediates and advanced. Extreme skiers won’t be disappointed due to many off-piste and freeride. It’s even possible to reach Cervinia in Italy skiing from the Klein Matterhorn cable car.

The Remarkable Gornergratt

A not to miss attraction. Also for those not skiing, it worth to take the Gornergrat Bahn and head to above 3.000 meters high. It is such a gorgeous panoramic view over there, and a spectacular view of the Matterhorn. Taking that train with my 12 years old son for the first time, was a mix of fear, adrenaline, and joy. Then, running down such a loooong ride all the way to the town is a memory that I’ll take forever.

During the summer the ski resort and its mountains transform into a mountain biking paradise. It offers a wide range of trails. Hiking fans as well have their stake of fun: 400 km hiking trail network. At last, Zermatt itself. The town is gorgeous; it has a pleasant atmosphere, cool aprés-ski options, and delicious restaurants. It’s not a cheap destination. It is, however, money well spent.
