Búzios is the most charming resort in Brazil’s southeast region. Located in Região dos Lagos (Lakes Region) in the northern part of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the town is 170 km away from the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is known for both; its beautiful beaches and impressive nightlife in high season. The beaches suit whether those looking for water sports or chilling out in the sun.

A Water Sports Destination

Due to its geographic position in a peninsula, Búzios is a water sports destination. There are many beaches of different style and audience.
Praia Rasa and Manguinhos on the north side, where the wind blows constantly, are the best spots for sailing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. The Clube Vela Buzios offers activities and equipment rentals. Trendy Geribá on the south side is a good beach-break for surfing. Praia Brava is also a surfing spot and a beautiful site to chill out.

Amused Evening Atmosphere

On the evening my suggestion for dinner is Bar do Zé at Praia da Armação with its relaxed and chic atmosphere and great food. Then, why not take a walk around the Rua das Pedras. The risk is to deep-dive in the exciting nightlife of Búzios!
